Deadline Tomorrow? What We Can Notarise for You Today
Most urgent enquiries we receive have a deadline of one to five days: an ICA upload due "by Friday", a flight tomorrow, a deal that closes this week. A same-day notary in Singapore can't fix every deadline, but it fixes more than people expect.
These can usually be done the same day, subject to the Notary's availability and a request confirmed by 11:00 AM on a working day:
- Signature witnessing. Powers of attorney, declarations, consent letters and agreements you sign in front of the Notary.
- Certified true copies. Passport, NRIC or FIN, driving licence and other documents, with the originals in hand.
- Statutory declarations for overseas use. Single status, name, address and similar declarations.
- Company documents at your office. A director signs a resolution or company POA before a deal deadline.
Here is what a realistic same-day timeline looks like on a weekday:
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| Morning | You WhatsApp a photo; we check the document and confirm a slot |
| Late morning or early afternoon | You sign, or the Notary certifies your copies, at your location |
| Before 4:30pm | We take it to SAL's counter at The Adelphi; SAL processes it on the spot |
| Same evening or next day | You collect it, or we courier it |
SAL is open Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 4:30pm, and closed on weekends and public holidays. On the eves of Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year, it closes at 12:30pm. A document notarised on a Friday afternoon or a weekend reaches SAL on the next working day. Information checked: October 2026.
A note for ICA applicants: a translation must be done before it can be notarised, so the time depends on your pages and language. See our notarised translations for ICA applications for current turnaround.
What Takes Longer Than a Day, and How We Speed It Up
Some steps are out of anyone's hands. We'll tell you honestly which of these apply to you:
- Embassy legalisation. Countries outside the Apostille Convention, such as the UAE, Malaysia and Qatar, usually need an embassy step after SAL. Embassy legalisation usually takes 5–10 working days in total, and Thailand needs this route until it joins the Apostille Convention on 28 February 2027.
- Weekends and public holidays. SAL is closed, so the Apostille waits for the next working day.
- Translations. They depend on page count and language: a single page usually takes 1–2 working days.
- Wording from an overseas lawyer. If your document still needs the recipient's format, we can't notarise it until it arrives.
- Replacement documents. SAL can't apostille laminated certificates. A digital duplicate of a marriage certificate from ROM typically arrives by the next working day.
- Courier abroad. International delivery adds its own days.
How we speed things up:
- 1We check the document before you arrive, so there are no surprises at the appointment.
- 2We prepare the notarial certificate wording in advance.
- 3We pay SAL online beforehand, as SAL requires, so the counter visit is quick.
- 4We route straight to SAL after signing, while the counter is still open. Here is how SAL adds the Apostille.
- 5We look for a shorter route. Many Singapore government documents, such as birth and marriage certificates, can go straight to SAL without a Notary. And since 11 September 2026, documents for Vietnam normally need only the Apostille, with no embassy step.
We never promise embassy timelines. If your deadline isn't realistic, we tell you before you book, not after you've paid.
The Fastest Way to Book: Send a Photo of Your Document on WhatsApp
The quickest bookings start with one WhatsApp message to +65 3129 4104. Send:
- a photo of the document (a phone photo is fine)
- your deadline, including the time
- the country or authority it's going to
- where you are: your home, your office, a hospital or a care home
- how many people need to sign
We reply during our service hours (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 9 pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm) with what's possible today, what you need to bring and one total price. If the deadline can't be met, we say so at once and suggest the fastest alternative. You can also reach us by phone or email if WhatsApp isn't convenient.
Bring your original passport or NRIC/FIN card, and the original of any document to be copied. Don't sign anything before the appointment.
Can't Leave Work? An Urgent Notary Visit to Your Location
If you can't get away, the Notary can come to you, subject to availability on the day. An urgent visit works the same way as our home visits anywhere in Singapore: the Notary checks your ID, you sign, and we take the document straight on to SAL.
Office teams with several signers can also book an urgent on-site signing at your company's office. Tell us the postal code when you message us, so we can quote the visit fee before you confirm.
Many people search "notary today" or ask to have something "notarized" within hours. The fastest honest answer is always the same: send the photo first, and we'll tell you what's possible.
What Urgent Service Costs, With No Surprises
Urgency never changes the statutory fees. Notary fees are fixed by law and are the same at every notary, and SAL's fee is the same however fast you need it. Only our own service fees change.
| Fee | Set by | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Statutory notary fees | Fixed by law, the same at every notary | depends on the document |
| SAL Apostille | Singapore Academy of Law | S$87.20 per notarial certificate (incl. GST) |
| Urgent handling (rearranging to meet your deadline) | Us | +S$39 per document (cut-off 11:00 AM on working days) |
| Visit to your location, if you choose one | Us | From S$99 per visit (Central / CBD); from S$119 (other areas) |
| Same-day SAL run | Us | From S$39 per document + government fees |
The prices shown above are starting prices. Your final price depends on the document type, number of pages and destination country, and will be confirmed in a written quotation before any work begins.
Worked example: a certified true copy of a one-page passport, certified during a same-day visit and then apostilled by SAL.
- Certified true copy, first page: S$10
- Notarial certificate: S$75
- SAL Apostille: S$87.20
- Statutory and SAL subtotal: S$172.20, plus our urgent fee (S$39 per document) and proxy fee (from S$39 per document) where they apply
You see the full total before you confirm. For more examples, see what common documents cost in full.
Your document is handled by our partner Singapore Notary Public, a senior lawyer appointed to practise as a Notary Public in Singapore. See how we work with our partner Notary Public.
“I needed a document notarised on the same day and was worried I wouldn't find an appointment. I contacted them and they confirmed availability before I made the arrangements. Everything was completed that afternoon.”

Urgent Notary Questions, Answered Fast
Can I get a document notarised today?
Often, yes, subject to the Notary's availability. Signature witnessing, certified true copies and statutory declarations can usually be done the same day if you have your original ID and the final document. Send a photo and your deadline on WhatsApp first, so we can confirm a slot and check the document before you travel.
Can the Apostille be done the same day?
Yes, on weekdays, if timing allows. The Singapore Academy of Law processes documents on the spot at its counter, which is open Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 4:30pm. If notarisation finishes early enough, we can reach SAL the same day. SAL is closed on weekends and public holidays, so those documents go the next working day.
Is there an extra fee for urgent service?
Only our own fee changes. Statutory notary fees are fixed by law, and SAL charges S$87.20 per notarial certificate however fast you need it. If we have to rearrange our schedule or make a same-day SAL run, our urgent fee of S$39 per document applies (same-day requests must be confirmed by 11:00 AM on working days), and it is shown in your quote before you confirm.
What should I send you to save time?
Send a clear photo of every page of the document, your deadline with the time, and the country it's going to. Also tell us where you'll be and how many people are signing. If the recipient gave you instructions or specific wording, send those too. With this, we can quote and confirm in one reply.
Can you come to me today?
Sometimes, subject to the Notary's availability that day. The Notary can come to your home, office or hotel anywhere in Singapore for an urgent signing. The visit fee starts from S$99 (Central / CBD) or S$119 (other areas), plus S$39 per document for a same-day booking. Message us your postal code and deadline, and we'll confirm honestly whether today is possible.
Can I sign by video call if I'm short of time?
No. Remote or video notarisation is not in force for notaries in Singapore, so you must sign in person before the Notary. That's why we offer visits: if you can't get to a notary in time, the Notary can come to you. If you're overseas, you'll need a notary where you are.
